What is the Chess Clock?
Play over-the-board chess with a proper clock – just place your phone or tablet between the players. Choose a time control like 3+2 blitz or 10+0 rapid, or set your own minutes and increment. Each player taps their half of the screen after moving to start the opponent’s clock.
It also works for other two-player games like Scrabble, Go, checkers or debates.
How to use the Chess Clock
- Choose a time control.
- Press Start – White’s clock begins.
- After each move, tap your own side to switch clocks.
- Use Pause any time. The loser’s side turns red when time runs out.

- Bullet: 1+0
- Blitz: 3+2 or 5+0
- Rapid: 10+0 or 15+10
- Classical: 30+0 or more
