What is the Speaker Test?
Not sure if your left and right speakers are connected the right way? Is one earbud quieter than the other? The Speaker Test plays sounds on each channel separately so you can check your speakers, headphones, earbuds, car audio or TV sound bar in seconds.
There is also a low-frequency sweep to test bass and subwoofers, a full 20 Hz – 20 kHz sweep, and an in-phase / out-of-phase test to check wiring.
How to use the Speaker Test
- Set your volume to a comfortable level.
- Press Left, Center or Right – the voice tells you which side should play.
- Try the sweeps and phase test for a deeper check.
How to read the phase test
In phase should sound solid and centred. Out of phase sounds thin and “inside your head”. If they sound the other way round, one speaker cable is reversed (+/−).
