Enter obtained and total marks to get your percentage, grade and marks needed for a target.
What is the Marks Percentage Calculator?
Every result card, admission form and job application asks for your percentage. This marks percentage calculator converts your obtained marks into a percentage in one step and shows your grade. It works for matric (SSC), intermediate (HSSC), O/A levels, university semesters and any test.
Set a target percentage to see how many more marks you need – handy when planning for merit lists, scholarships and entry tests.
How to use the Marks Percentage Calculator
- Enter your obtained marks.
- Enter the total marks.
- Read your percentage and grade, and add a target to see the marks you still need.
Percentage of marks formula
Percentage = (obtained marks ÷ total marks) × 100. For example, 850 out of 1,100 is 850 ÷ 1,100 × 100 = 77.27%.
Common grading scale
| Percentage | Grade |
|---|---|
| 90% and above | A+ |
| 80 – 89% | A |
| 70 – 79% | B |
| 60 – 69% | C |
| 50 – 59% | D |
| 40 – 49% | E |
| Below 40% | F |
Boards and universities may use different cut-offs, so always check your own board’s grading policy.
Aggregate for admissions
Many universities combine matric, inter and entry-test percentages into an aggregate (for example 10% matric + 40% inter + 50% test). Calculate each percentage here, then multiply by its weight and add them up.
