What is the Dog Age Calculator?
The old “multiply by 7” rule is wrong: dogs age very fast in their first two years and then more slowly, and large breeds age faster than small ones. This calculator uses the size-based chart used by many vets – the first year equals about 15 human years, the second about 9 more, then 4–7 years for each dog year depending on size.
It also shows the result of the 2020 epigenetic “DNA clock” formula from UC San Diego (16 × ln(age) + 31) for comparison.
