What is the Child Height Predictor?
A child’s adult height is strongly linked to the parents’ heights. The mid-parental method averages the parents’ heights and adjusts by 6.5 cm for boys (up) or girls (down); about 95% of children end up within ±8.5 cm of this target. If you know the child’s current height and age, the tool also gives a growth-based estimate.
How to use the Child Height Predictor
- Enter both parents’ heights and the child’s sex.
- Optionally enter the child’s age and current height.
